In early April, Rochester Armored Car managers gathered from seven states in Omaha, Nebr.
“This time together gives us a chance to review best practices, discuss changes, and refuel as a team,” said Joseph M. Shea, president of the company.
Shea explained that this also is the perfect time to recognize managers for various achievements and anniversaries. Manager of the Year, Manager of the Year for Supporting Services, Branch Development Cup, and 20% Club are among the highest of company honors. “It’s crucial that we make time to recognize our achievements as a team and celebrate those individuals who have demonstrated exceptional work and commitment,” he said.
Manager of the Year: Brad Proper, Branch Manager for the Minot, North Dakota Branch
“Brad is a great leader and highly skilled in organization and problem-solving,” said Neal Benally, North and South Dakota General Manager. “Brad’s knowledge of his area of operations has helped in numerous occasions, allowing Rochester to showcase its ability to deliver extraordinary service to the customer.” Proper has been with Rochester since 2007 and became manager in 2014.
Manager of the Year for Supporting Services: Mark Philips, Regional Manager, Coin Services
With the continued growth of Cash Vault Services and Coin Services, Rochester introduced a new award this year that recognizes a manager in one of the supporting service areas.
“Mark continues to demonstrate excellent leadership by developing coin services staff and encouraging collaboration between departments to improve overall operations,” said Blake Binder, Director of Coin Services. “These synergies give professional and extraordinary service to our customers.” Phillips has been part of Coin Services since November, 2011. He became the Regional Coin Services Manager for Nebraska and Iowa in 2017.
Branch Development Cup: North Dakota Team
“It was great to have the Branch Development Cup stay in the Dakotas once again through the strong performance of three terminals: Minot, Grand Forks, and Fargo,” Benally said. “The continued drive by all three managers to profitably provide the safe and secure transportation of valuables has resulted in a very strong and sustainable bottom line. This bottom line looks to be a contender for years to come with prospects that are on the horizon and the continued diligent management by our North Dakota team.”
20% Club award:
Each year, Rochester recognizes managers who exceed 20 percent profit growth during the fiscal year. “This is no small achievement,” Shea said. “We appreciate all the work each and every one of our managers does, but recipients of this award are mission-focused and the results show how that impacts a branch’s growth.”
Mark Anderson, Grand Forks, North Dakota Branch Manager
Anderson has been with the company for 22 years and became manager in 2013.
Tucker Horning, Mankato, Minn. Branch Manager
Horning has been with the company for five years and became manager in 2015.
Brad Proper, Minot, North Dakota Branch Manager
Proper has been with Rochester since 2007 and became manager in 2014.
